Returning to TABB Group’s FinTech Festival
Unlike the tremendous star explosions that occur roughly every 50 years in the Milky Way, we at Predata are fortunate to observe a SuperNova annually: the presentation of TABB Group’s SuperNova award for exciting fintech startups at it’s FinTech Festival.
Last year, Predata was honored to be selected as the winner of the SuperNova award out of a field of seven finalists. We’re looking forward to finding out who we will pass the baton to at this year’s event, where we’ll be participating as the WiFi sponsor. FinTech Festival is being held on November 13th (today) at the Sheraton New York Times Square.
A lot has happened since last year’s FinTech Festival. This year started off with a (big) bang for us as we joined Bloomberg’s Enterprise Access Point in February, becoming one of the first alternative data providers on the platform. The partnership allows Bloomberg Data License clients to access and incorporate our machine learning-powered, predictive analytics into their decision making processes.
Bloomberg wasn’t the only platform integration success story of 2019 — Predata became available on FreightWaves’ SONAR, the freight and trucking industry’s platform for market data and analytics. Demonstrating Predata’s adaptability, we built more than 200 freight-specific signals only available to FreightWaves clients.
As we continue to spearhead the use of alternative datasets and signals for firms in capital markets, we focused some time in 2019 to leverage our AI technology to provide leading indicators in the equities space, adding a suite of signals pertaining to the 11 S&P equity sectors in June. Our clients had previously found success using our geopolitical risk signals for foreign exchange and commodities trading applications, but this was our first dedicated foray into equities. We will continue to dedicate efforts to our equities signal suite, with plans to expand into international equities and the Russell 3000 in 2020.
Our most recent product innovation is an improved alerting function. Clients can receive daily signal alerts spanning countries, global macro and micro themes, and asset classes including, FX, equities, and commodities. With automated alerts, Predata’s users can better monitor a broad spectrum of risks and trends, all within one platform.
With all that’s been going on, we appreciate the chance to stop and reflect at events like TABB’s FinTech Festival, speak with clients, and evaluate how to better navigate the road ahead.
